I was thinking of getting a Benchrest Follower to turn my Savage long action into a single shot. I only use this rifle at the range, and only one round loaded at a time anyway.
What are the benefits of a Benchrest Follower?
Is the Benchrest Follower a waste of money?
Thanks for looking,

In some actions, the rounds feed better as a single shot off of a follower than they do off the empty mag. It also keeps the mag cleaner.

A Benchrest single shot follower normally just sits on top of your regular mag follower and held there by spring tension.Easy to slip in ond out.Designed to allow simple centered round feeding rather than "bobbling" around on regular follower.
Other ones are made to be "more permanent" like glued in when bedding a repeater
into a single shot style stock.
They are worth the price if you like to single feed your repeater.

Just something to think about when you order it. I recently got one for my 6br which is a short case. I ordered a short actioned follower in a "short" configuration......which I guess is actually designed for a .223. There is an empty space between the back of the follower and the rear of the magazine box. Everything seems to chamber smoothley, but I would have to put a spacer or modify my internal mag box to get rid of the space. I should have ordered a short action follower for a .308 length cartridge.

The Score hi followers are designed to be held in place by the mag follower and spring thus making them temporary.

However, many target stocks have no provision for a mag well so the solution would be to glue the follower into the action then bed into the stock.

So it can be used either way.
