Can anyone who owns or has experience with one of the Benelli's with the carbon fiber rib please comment on its durability? Anyone know of any issues?
They continue to be used in new models so im guessing it checks out. Just want some reinforcement. Thanks

I had a first generation UltraLight with the CF rib and it began peeling. Stoeger replace the entire barrel and I never had an issue with the second one. It was more matte than the first and the gloss finish began peeling on the first one. Seems like they worked out the kinks but I still prefer the steel ribs on my other Benellis

Thanks Patrick. I walked into my local dealer to have a look. The carbon fiber rib wiggled loose on a brand new gun. I'm not willing to spend this kind of money on a gun with a wiggly rib, regardless if it cuts down a couple ounces. Too bad, I had a wad of cash in my pocket and really wanted to slap it down for a new bird gun.

In my opinion it's more of a gimmick. Benelli/Beretta make great guns but lately their offerings are all flash and pizazz with very little performance increases. I like steel and wood personally and my Benelli/Beretta collection is reflective of that.
