Benelli Choke Question

Just picked up a new Supernova 28” pump. Manual says not to use steel shot with the full choke that came with the gun. Anyone know of aftermarket full chokes for supernovas that I can use with steel shot shells?

Is the problem the chocke insert itself, or is it the joint to the barrel?

I believe the tighter chokes that are steel safe are made with a harder and higher quality steel.

Benelli/Beretta factory chokes used to be/are made by Trulock. Through modified are steel safe, they will be marked on them.

Yeah, a few of them are safe for steel, but the full (in particular) is not.

A "full" choke rated for steel is not the same constriction as your factory full. It is a choke that patterns steel shot similar to how a factory choke patterns lead. Typically the factory modified chokes pattern steel similar to how a factory full will pattern lead. This is due to the fact that steel doesn't compress when it is forced through a choke like lead will.
