What kind of patterns are you guys getting with your Benelli M4's?
I have been doing some blazing with some cheap #8 i got and some slugs but wanted to pick up some bb or 00 (lead or steel i dont know)
What kind of patterns are you guys getting with what you use?
Thanks

Every shotgun patterns differently! Your best bet is buy and try as may different brands you can lay your hands on! Sometimes going in on it with a friend can help defray the costs!

Also, what is it that you are wanting to achieve? Different patterns are good or bad depending on what use you are going for!

I did this just the other day, as I was thinking of trying the M4 for birds.

Challenger 3" Mag steel, BB, I believe 1 1/8 oz.

Benelli M4, modified choke and Beretta A301, modified choke at about 35 yards. Both patterned very close to one another, the Benelli having a slightly more "flat" pattern. Both guns had roughly the same amount of pellets in the same diameter.

I would imagine the shot from the Benelli had a lower velocity due to the 10" shorter bbl., but the main thing I wanted to see was if the pattern would be blown due to the shorter bbl..........it was not.

My most best patterns have come from Federal Tactical Low Velocity OO buckshot-H132 or H133, first is a 9 pellet load and second is a 8 pellet load copper plated travelling at 1145 fps incorporating flitecontrol wad, using a 14 inch Benelli M4 either one of these loads is an absolute tact driver, expect groups to be as small as 3.5 - 6 inches at 15yards.

I didn't pattern my Benelli M4, but I put a red dot on it and shot some rifled slugs at 50 yards...

All 5 slugs went though the same hole!

Sighted my M4 in at 50yards. All five slugs through the same hole. Out to about 20-25 yards I get decent patterns using full power, 12 pellet 00buck, 41 pellet 4Buck and even shotshells, BB and #6 shot both pattern nicely out to 25 yards.

Can't ever see myself using neutered buckshot, 8 pellets at 1100fps. For the quicker follow up times using the Fed ammo, I can put more pellets on target in the same amount of time, the ARGO system on the Benelli really takes the kick out of it, I see no need for reduced buckshot in a combat shotgun no matter how great it supposedly patterns. From my own tests there isn't a huge difference and I would much rather go with 4 more pellets and a lot more muzzle velocity.
