So I see a site sponsor is offering the Tactical ordnance Benelli M4
I have owned a few M4 before and regretted selling them. I think I want to get another one and want to know is the Tactical ordnance worth the extra $900.00 over the regular one.
Now this will be mainly used for back country blasting and the occasional trap shooting.
Anyone know if there are other dealers offering the T.O one

Tactical Ordinance is top shelf no doubt. You will never hear a bad word about their work. That said, you may want to look at the Beretta 1301 tactical or competition too. They are about $1k. Cheaper and for what you want it would be a great choice

As mentioned Tac Ord work is top notch.

I have a Tac Ord Reworked Benelli M4 and Remington Versamax. Both are great but if I could only keep one it would be the Versamax.

The Versamax has a better trigger, I find the bead sight better / faster with less height over bore issues for close range competition stuff and Tac Ord now offers the TOMM mount for red dots on the Versamax (which works awesome) but the main difference is the fact the Versamax is a 3.5" gun.

This makes the loading port significantly bigger (particularly after Tac Ord has machined and polished it to open it up some more) than the M4 for easier / faster reloads, it also means the gun can hold an extra round of 2.75" (5 x rounds of 3.5" leave more room for 2.75" rounds than 5 x 3").

As mentioned my choice would be the Versamax, I know Remington took a dump but their products are starting to appear again and hopefully at some point Tac Ord offers some more upgraded Versamax's.

I have owned a beretta 1301 before and it didn’t have quite the feel that I wanted. I haven’t tried a Remington yet though. I think I’m still going to go with the Benelli M4 but have not made up my mind if I want to go Tac Ord or not.

Buy and M4, see if you like the ergonomics. You can send it to Tacord to have thr work done to it afterward. The team over there does amazing work, give them a call and they will be able to answer all your questions.

Yes I know Tac Ord can do the work
I want to know if it would be better to buy it already done up by them from another business or get a regular one then send it off to them.
This is what’s being offered. Is it worth it

I have the Tac Ord full meal deal and would do so again but here is my take if I'm trying to be unbiased:

Enlarged / polished feed port to ensure fast and seamless reloads - nice to have / must have for competition (but honestly an unmodified 3.5" gun will still have a better loading port)
Tuned and polished shell latch w/ chamfered forend - nice to have / must have for competition
Fluted bolt w/ Titanium Nitride coating (probably makes the gun cycle better must mostly cosmetic)
Tactical Ordnance oversized bolt release (I would strongly recommend / must have for competition)
Tactical Ordnance oversized bolt handle (I would strongly recommend / must have for competition)
Taren Tactical oversized safety (Nice touch - your call)
Taren Tactical Accuguide carrier (Will stop your thumb getting chewed up)
Tactical Ordnance magazine extension tube - (I couldn't not have this / must have for competition)
Tactical Ordnance logo (cosmetic obviously)

Yeah I think I’m going to go with a regular M4 and upgrade parts along the way. Hopefully a sale will come along soon for one. Should of bought one when they went on sale last time

First of all buying and sending in unless something changed they are 6 months to a year out depending on level of upgrade.

Second the Main reason to send something to TacOrd is to Vang Comp the thing and they Can’t/Won’t do it on an M4 so in my opinion everything else is expensive lipstick on a Workhorse.

Your call but I wouldn’t spend on any shotgun without the Vang Comp System.

The Vang Comp system is definitely worth it, it is a very good upgrade, I have it on my Mossberg 590, no issues, no problems, it patterns better and the recoil is less then before.
