I am ordering a Benelli MR1 and have been researching potential optics for it. Given it's intended P.O.U what would your recommendations be? I don't plan on seeing ranges of much more than 200 yards and would like it to be as effective as possible at about 50-100 yards. My initial thought is that a Trijicon Acog would be a good choice but I am unsure as to which would suit this particular rifle best. Any other input would be greatly appreciated!

Just when I thought I had read almost all of the literature available on this rifle. It's good to see that it might be catching on. To date there seems to be very little information on it. I love the way it shoulders and I can't wait to shoot one. It feels like they are built very well.

Those scopes look pretty nice; it will be interesting to see if anyone has any experience with them. What sling are you using on your gun? The mounts look a little awkward on the collapsible stocks. I was thinking about getting a Spectre Gear single point sling if I can get the GG&G Supernova single point adapter to mount properly on this stock. From the pictures I have seen it looks as though they would be interchangeable.

I would like a scope with some magnification about 3-4x. The Beretta is restricted is it not. Looks real nice.

These are very light and fun to shoot. Got alot of looks when I was at the range. The only complaint I have is it needs a case deflector the shells sometimes come straight back and leave marks on the side of the receiver. Lefties would have problems with the gun.

Do you find that it chips the finish or does it just leave little brass streaks on the receiver? Another nice setup for these might be an Aimpoint with the 3x magnifier on a Larue folding mount (I'm not sure if the factory rail would be long enough though). I think I might lean more towards something like this though. They aren't cheap but I figure if I'm going to spend the money its better to get something quality. Until I get the money saved up, I'll put the iron sights to work. I've read that a lot of optics sit high on the MR1 so it could be interesting trying to find something that works, although from the pictures I have seen, the telescoping stock seems to lessen that problem.

I was looking at some trijicon scopes but the eye relief on them is to short for where the scope would have to mount. They are very pricey too.

I get brass marks and I cannot remove them.

If anyone is wanting to mount a higher magnification scope on one of these it is possible to remove the back sight, it is only held on with 2 screws from the top. They may be a little tough to get loose, some have loctite. Once you get the rear sight off though it is possible to mount a scope low over the bore. I know a few guys that have done this. Just throwing this out as an option.
