Meh. I'll pass on this one.
Flaws that I see: (1) Charging handle on the right. (2) The drop of that stock will make chin welds a necessity with optics. (3) Accuracy seems to be marginal from reviews (1.5 to 2 moa with match ammo) (4) The sites will pose a similar problem to mounting optics as experienced on the Storm. IE scopes will be a pain.
If the Charging handle was reversible to either side then I think this rifle would do well in the ergonomics department. But with the right side charging handle it's definitely not in the same league as the newest combat rifles for ergonomics.
From what I'm seeing there are lots of better options out there. Just too many compromises in a very crowded .223 market.

The market of non-restricted, semi-auto .223's that sell for under $2000 is crowded?
I'm not saying this gun is a winner as I have not seen one in person or shot one, but I don't think it has a lot of competition in it's niche either... At least not the unique niche that it fills in the Canadian market.

Exactly. Until we see the AR-180B go back into production, the only current manufacture .223 caliber non restricted black rifles less than $2000 are the MR1 and the Mini-14. The more cheaper options we can get, the more people we get into owning black rifles.

There are a fair number of alternatives out there. Under $2000 there isn't much. That being said $1600 is a decent amount towards one of these other options.
Other non restricted options: Tavor, FS2000, Swiss Arms PE-90, HK SL-8, XCR, Mini 14 target, CZ858
The biggest problems with this rifle are the stock angle, and the integrated sights. I have a Non restricted 9mm Storm which I do like. However finding the right optics for it was a pain. The ears protecting the built in sights really limit your options. Finding a good fit for a magnified scope would be very difficult for this rifle. Now consider the extra angle of the stock. The stock on the Storm is fairly straight without much angle. Can you say Chin weld with optics? You'll need to add a cheek rest of some sort to raise it.
If you don't care about the non restricted status, then $1600 will buy you a very nice Stag AR-15 rifle. There are cheaper alternatives as well in the restricted category.
If this were a $1000 rifle I'd consider it. For $1600 it's limitations would make me look elsewhere. Too many compromises. This coming from someone who likes the looks of the rifle since it reminds me of my Storm. However it has the Storms limitations and then some. If this rifle just had a flat rail on top without the built in sights and a storm stock only without the web, along with the storms ability to change the charging handle. Well then I would consider buying one.
