would anyone care to comment whether or not it is practical to have a Benelli Nova barrel threaded for chokes, and roughly how much it would cost?
their new barrels are not exactly cheap.

i need a turkey gun, and the 3.5" Nova Tac with ghost rings would be ideal if i could use chokes with it, however it is fixed IC. the barrel is chrome lined, and i would also have to factor in the cost of at least two choke tubes.

or am i better off leaving it alone and buying an inexpensive Mossberg 500 12ga or Remmy 870 Express as a turkey gun instead?

I went thru this with a Beretta I had. Nobody wants to thread the chrome lined barrels. The one place that would do it was Precision Arms in King City, ON. However they use their custom chokes which aren't cheap, the cost for the work plus 3 chokes was around $500, as the chokes are $90 each. I traded the gun and bought a O/U.

You could buy a nice turkey gun for $500.;)

Reliable Gun in Vancouver can machine chrome lined barrels for both Tru-Choke and Tru-Choke thin wall (Small diameter ) tubes. They need to know both the outside diameter of the barrel and also the bore (not at the muzzle) in order to asses feasibility.
