I'm looking for a new waterfowl pump gun and really like Benelli as a brand. Just wondering if someone can cover the main differences between the Nova and SuperNova? The price difference is about $200 more for the SuperNova so if it's nothing drastic I'll probably just go with the Nova...

Thanks!

I had owned a 20ga Nova for a short while but have had an opportunity to inspect both versions of the Nova in 12ga. The Super Nova has a Comfortech stock (shims are also provided for adjustments to gun fit) + an enlarged trigger guard - everything else is the same.

Like said above they are pretty much the same, the Nova is 1 piece receiver/butt stock where the Supernova is detach (and has adjustment shims). I liked the looks of the Nova better and went with it.

The Benelli pump is a really tough waterfowl gun that is for sure! See what one fits you best.

The only downside to the Nova is that accessory barrels are worth almost as much as the gun. It would be nice to have a 12" to 18" option for blasting targets with slugs at the range... But you may as well buy another gun...

I'm also looking at the nova but not for hunting. So if I understand right I can't shot slugs with this shotgun?

You can shoot slugs with any smoothbore shotgun (including the Nova). Slugs perform best when shot through an open choke - example: Imp Cyl, Cyl chokes etc.

Hey WaterlooRifle,

The main difference between the two is that the Super Nova features a modular stock system, which allows you to change out the stocks, should you want a pistol grip or something like that. You can also fit the Super nova with shims, so you can achieve the perfect fit for yourself. The Super Nova also has the comfort tech recoil reduction system, so you get less felt recoil. I have shot both and they're both awesome shot guns, definitely my favorite pump actions that I have shot. If you have any other questions, please feel free to give me a call at 1-877-547-6873 and I would be happy to help you out.
