After much debating, I've decided to cut down the LOP on my 870 and give it to the wife for a goose gun. This means that I need a new shotgun!

I've narrowed it down to either a Nova or a Supernova. The Stoeger equivalent is a close third, but I don't think it would have the durability of the Benelli.
I don't really need the 3 1/2 in capacity, but I know first goose hunt will probably see a box of 3 1/2s through it.

My biggest question is what are the main differences between the Nova and the Supernova? Am I going to see that much more bang for my buck with the SN? I do plan on running the odd box of slugs through it too, will one handle it better than the other? I'm just looking to cover all my bases here before making a purchase. Thanks in advance for the help.

The Nova stock is basically a one piece unit, meaning you cannot get any alternative stock configurations (ie pistol grip), the Supernova has the Comfortech stock to help reduce recoil, you can also purchase pistol grips from Benelli (same as the SBE II I believe)

Supernova has a modified trigger guard to accomodate gloved hands.

I don't think there is much difference in the action itself or operation

I have had a Nova for several years, fantastic gun. If you're looking to accesorize the Supernova gives you more options.
