Hi guys, im been socking some money away for a carbine. looking around the 2K range. was with my buddy at the local shop and saw a benelli mr1 with a calapsing stock. my buddy said to get it but iv been waiting for the rfb to get here. im kidna leaning toward waiting for the rfb. i kno its kidna apples and oranges but what would you guys do? anyone have a mr1? what do u think? im a little concerned about the controls as far as fast mag changes, they seem kidna awkward. also u cna put a picitiny rail on it for lights ect but its soo far forward i think u couldnt put a vertical grip on it could u? im kidna torn on it haha. what do u guys think. the guns goin for 2 grand by the way, seems a bit steep but it does have a calapsable stock on it already that iv never seen one with it b4.

I know it has been said a thousand times but "what are you going to use it for?"

MR1 being a .223 will be much cheaper to feed than a RFB in .308. if it is strictly a range gun, an AR might be even a better choice than the MR1, but if it is going to be a hunting rifle than the RFB will be lot more useful.

it is my experience than people post these type of question, really aren't looking for an answer, they have already selected what they want to buy, they just want others to help justify own decisions.

As for were it's @ we won't get them tell next year if everything goes according to plain. Plus I can already see some one making a quick bolt release and quad rail's are both in the work's ;)
Just hope that they come with the model C front sight and a heavy 18.5" threaded barrel.

That is real deep man....:onCrack:

Someone can correct me, but I think I might have the only MR-1 with a collapsible stock on layaway to be found east of Alberta. My dealer says he got one (mine) and a dealer from Edmonton bought the rest. Actually, just checked, Wolverine posted on 10/19/2010 that they had a limited supply, must've been them.

Benelli MR1

You should go with the Benelli, It's available now and with the extra $800 you save you can buy a Trijicon Acog or an Aimpoint Comp M4. .308 is going to be prohibitive to shoot and .223 will be more than sufficient for the kind of ranges you will be shooting on the Island. Plus You have no idea wether the ergonomics of the Kel Tec will work for you without having handled it first. If you practice with anything long enough you will eventually get it to work for you, the limiting factor will ultimately always be the operator. If all else fails and you don't like it, pay the taxes, sell it to me and buy the Kel Tec in a couple months. It's win win.
