Benelli Super Nova on Order.

I ordered a new Super Nova From SIR Mail Order Today. If anyone is interested in a report when I get it I will post something. I have been throwing the idea of a new pump gun around for long enough. I have priced everything and anything out and even though the super nova isn't cheap, from posts I have read it should be a great reliable hunting gun.
Time will tell..

The Supernova has a larger trigger guard which provides 30% more room and it has Benelli's ComforTech stock. They might have beefed up the internals a little too. You can also get a tactical pistol grip stock for it. What I really want to know, and I'm hoping crazy_train04 can tell us, is can you use Benelli's Recoil Reducer with the Super? I haven't been able to get a definitive answer from anyone.

Well I finally got a chance to post come pics.
The gun Functions flawlessly. Feels good and shoots good. I am very happy with this purchase!

It sure looks nice. I ordered one from SIR about three weeks ago but I still haven't got it. I'm not too upset about the wait though. The bastards at our local "gun shop" wanted $900 for it!! I got mine from SIR for $540 plus i didn't have to pay the 7% PST. I'm glad to hear yet another great review of the Supernova. I've always been owned wood stocked firearms but I finally realized that synthetic is the way to go when in the field. Plus at the price of the Supernova you could drop it in the saltchuck and you wouldn't cry too much.
 
Barrel??

Great looking gun!! I have been tossing up the idea of a Supernova or one of the newer Stoeger M2000 for a do it all gun. What size barrel did you get on there, can you comment on the weight?? Would it be ok to carry for upland Pheasent and Rabbit??
 
What is your opinion about the position of the safety? I handled on and found it to be a awkward and difficult reach(but the one I tried had a pistol grip butt stock).

Opinions?
 
I love my Benelli Super Nova! I got the 18" w/Ghost Ring sights. (I hesitate to use the word "tactical"). I named her "Lenore" (for the Rare and Radient maiden whom the angels named Lenore...), Stuck a 2 shot Tac-Star extension on her, and went to town.

And then, I put some slugs thru her.

The upper group (in the 8 ring) are plain-jane 3" Federal Slugs, @1760 FPS or something. That's what is says on the box. 3 shots, at about 40 meters (Phoenix indoor range, edmonton). The lower group is Remington BuckHammers. I thought they were Sabot slugs, but they actually did pretty well. Very clean holes, wadcutter, almost.
