Benelli Super Nova tactical 14" with 28" barrel

I have Benelli Super Nova tactical 14" and wonder if I could safely put a long 28" barrel instead the original 14" for skit shooting. I checked that the barrel fits in perfectly (mechanically) but wonder if that's a sign I can safely do the swap. I just don't want to buy additional gun (virtually the same gun except for longer barrel) if I can simply switch barrels depending on what I am planning to shoot.
Any help would be appreciated.

put a 28"(my buddies) on my SNT 18" and shot trap/skeet for a day with no problems. Im looking for a 26" OR 28" barrel for my self as well.

I've also got the 14" Supernova. I recently swapped my collapsible stock for a Comfortech....and love it. I use it for close wabbits and grouse. Great for crawling thru bush with! I have other shotguns for other purposes.

You can safely fit a long barrel but the ghost-ring might get in your way, no?

Swapping is definitely not an issue as already said. But if I were you, unless you got a great deal on a new barrel, I would just buy a new supernova, Benelli barrels do not come cheap.
