I got to go out for a couple goose hunts this fall (which I haven't for nearly 20 yrs) and I got the bug. My shotguns are 2 3/4 and not set up for steel shot. I have a chance at a smokin' deal on a Supernova, I just stumbled on this deal and wasn't really looking but it is too good to passup. I will find out in a week if it is a go. Is this a good shotgun? I have read a few reviews and it all seems fairly positive but what are the reviews from people who actually have one. I'm not going to be a guy who shoots thousands of rounds a year but would like to have a gun that isn't going to jam up and fall apart.
Also another newbie question. Which choke would you recommend for geese, I'm guessing I'll be using 3" BB if that matters or not?
sorry for the questions and thanks for the advise.

I bought one as my first gun and I couldn't be happier. I've fired cases and cases through it and have never had a single problem. It eats absolutely everything from 2 3/4 target loads to 3 1/5 slugs. I can't tell you enough how much I love my Supernova. It swings nicely, the action is buttery smooth and it's dead ###y. I went with the all black and 28in. barrel.

now I just need to find someone to take me out bird hunting, I'd love to barbeque myself some quail or grouse!

My Supernova and it is a great gun. It will handle 3.5 inch shells and the stock absorbs the recoil of the goose loads.
I coach junior shot-gunners and my shotgun has been used by the kids shooting skeet, sporting clays and trap for three years ... they like the "soft" recoil. I would hate to guess how many rounds have gone through this gun without a hitch.
The Supernova usually comes with lots of chokes and you would be using an IM (improved modified) or M (modified) choke for steel goose loads since the full choke is not capable of handling steel.
Go for it...

Awesome. You can actually feel the quality in plastics when you handle it while at the same time feeling the attention to detail when racking it.

The "mag cut off" button on the bottom of the forestock is a super feature for the duck and goose hunter also.

A+ very high quality for a pump.

I have a regular Nova and it is bar none the ugliest firearm I own, and I treat it as such. It does not ask for pity, though. It is built like a tank and can be field stripped in about a minute, without tools. For waterfowl, it is all I need. I wouldn't want to lug it around the uplands though - it's heavy.

i had one. i sold it. been kicking myself ever since. by far the best pump shotty that i have ever owned. beats the pants off the 870's, 500 or stoegers i've owned. if you can get it a good price, jump on it!

I own the same. It's the same thing minus the comfort tec stock really. For the extra money for the super it's worth it as those 3.5 goose loads are brutal on the brain in any pump.

PICS YEY!!

TOTALY WORTH ANY AMOUNT!
Ive shoot hundreds of rounds through mine from 2 3/4" skeet loads, to 3.5" heavy goose and turkey loads, along with a few slugs for fun. The least kick ive ever felt out of a 12ga. Never had problums other than when I forgot to rechamber a round, then a duck flew by me :p.
Easy to clean, simple.
Very ruggid and tough, used mine in all kinds of weather from really hot to really cold, snow and rain, you name it!

Just got my Supernova Tactical and I love it, out of the box it was perfect and very very easy to work with, dismantle and install extra stuff. I am very happy with my purchase and it is very worth the money, if I could afford it I would have an M4. I just bought a rail from Evolution Gun Works, it already comes drilled and tapped so why not. I have yet to use 3 1/2" Turkey shot but the 2 3/4" and 3" slugs don't kick that bad either and thats all I shot and I do not have comfort tech either. I find this would work well as a tactical as well as a hunting gun.
