Benelli SUPERNOVA PUMP Vs Browning BPS FIELD WATERFOWL,
looking for a new hunting shotgun, will probably spend the little extra and get the camo version, which gun would you suggest over the other!?

I'm a lefty and had a BPS Upland Special. One of the best built shotguns I've had. I loved the bottom feed/eject. I shot a lot of clays over the years and that shottie was a hoot. While not a competition gun, it shot fast and never jammed on me once. And I liked the fact you can unload the magazine with a finger with the action closed by pressing a raised button inside the port.

Don't forget that the safety is like a Mossberg too. The BPS is truly an ambidextrous marvel! I will own another Upland soon, but this time in 20ga for grouse.

I've heard of the camo coating comming off on he bps's but i've never had one so i'm not 100%

the BPS and the nova are both very good shotguns. if you're a lefty the BPS or a used ithaca 37 is for you.the camo finish will come off if you bang it on something hard enough, but it won't "rub" off without a lot and i mean a lot of wear.

IMO pass on the camo: they really charge a premium for it and it ends up looking like crap later anyway, its just a matter of time. ive also seen a lot of friends guns with huge swatches of camo melted off from hands covered in mosquito repellant, worn and scuffed off, etc. with camo, IMO decide if you really need it (like for turkey) or if youre just getting it because it looks cool. if you need it, go for it, if youre just getting it for looks you will seriously regret it later.

ive never owned a BPS but i own two Novas, and they are great guns. the receiver and LOP is longer than most other shotguns i own so make sure you handle them in the store and see how they fit you... Novas/SuperNovas are hit or miss when it comes to fit. some love em, some hate em. make sure you get the barrel you want right off because Benelli replacement barrels are retardedly expensive... its not like an 870 where you can just pick up spare barrels for $80-120. youre looking at ~$300+.

Both are quality guns. I have owned a 12 BPS and a 20 BPS upland. My 20 is my beater, my go to gun and I shoot the odd round of skeet with it. I like the bottom eject, but for targets I just like the side load better. I have never shot the Super version of the Nova, but have spent some time with the regular Nova and it is one slick pump. These two guns are so different that individual preference would be the deciding factor. Camo or no? Go with whatever pleases you. If the camo is handled properly and not abused it will give you years of cool:cool:

If you choose the Nova, be careful not to fall for a cheaper product that looks similar.

ya ill defenatly go for the supernova if i decide to go that route, im leaning more towards the supernova, the bps bottom eject is a nice plus though, i have a new 870 im probably going to sell to upgrade,

are there any other pumps that i perhaps have looked past? i want to stay under $1000

my wife really likes the camo :)
