Benelli Supernova scope/rail mount holes - how to plug?

I have a Benelli Supernova with a rail and sight mounted. When originally purchased it came with cheap plastic plugs that deformed when they were removed, rendering them disposable. I want to remove the rail but still keep the option to re-mount in the future (thus, dont want to plug permanently). Does anyone know what size set screws to use? or where to find them? I know Brownells sells some set screws, but would like to be sure so im only ordering once. Any other suggestions? Benelli does not sell the plastic plugs, nor will they send me any. I suppose the 2 cents they are worth would really eat into their profit margin. I brought the rail mount screws to a major fastener supplies store to have the threads measured and try to match it up - the employee was boggled. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I'm guessing that the screws are a 6x40 or 48, you won't find them at any industrial supply since that thread is mainly used in the gun industry. Any gun shop or even Cabelas and Bass Pro should have them.

They will be 6/48 or 8/40 those to are the industry standard u can get them at any gun shop there are millions of them out there
