Hear me out..lI know this has “tactical” in the thread title but I’m looking for one shotgun that could do duty as a clays gun and possibly for something like 3-gun or other action competition later on. There’s a combo barrel set for the Benelli Vinci at Al flaherty's (called the tactical combo) with two different stocks (pistol and traditional) and two different barrel lengths (18.5” and 28”) an extended magazine and some chokes. It is $1700. Anything better than this for the money for what I want to do?

I use a Vinci Speedbolt 24” barrel for sporting clays and 3 gun, it works great and is a very reliable platform. Which for 3 gun is important.
No experience with their tactical combo, thr 18.5” would be advantages for 3 gun (easier to move around obstacles) but the ghost ring sights would be slower engaging targets vs a high vis bead. If you’re going to mount an optic then the included pic rail is good and no downside.
The longer barrel for clays you should have no issues but be aware that the Vinci tends to shoot high so you may have to get used to that. Otherwise it’s a good clays/hunting gun.

Yes for $1700 I would say that’s totally worth it if you’re looking for one (well basically two) nice gun to do it all.
Not sure what else you’ve considered but for your budget another option for an all rounder would be the beretta 1301 competition gen 2, you get a 24” barrel which is a good compromise if you can only have one barrel length. Not customizable or specialized as the Vinci two barrel/stock set. Personally I would pick the Vinci but another option to consider.
Not sure if you’re familiar with the Vinci platform but the quick takedown is pretty awesome and you’ll be able to swap your barrels and stocks out in like a minute tops.

Was mainly looking to swap the charging handle for something a little bigger and an oversized bolt release button but couldn't find anyone who makes aftermarket parts for the Vinci line. Other than that it shoots great and it'll be my semi-auto for life.
