I have recently found a nice mosin that i want to set up as a shooter for the range, but i am kind of torn on what i should do with it. It is a 1933, hex reciever, laminate stock, numbers matching izhevsk that already has a bent bolt.
I know that most hex reciever are more collectable, but has altering it to have the bent bolt already ruined the collecter value? If i put a scope on should i stick to a scout scope and not drill and tap, or with the bent bolt is it already "ruined" and i should just go with a reciever mount for a regular scope?

Any thoughts would be appreciated on this one.

I don't know, the way I see it, I wouldn't let a few drilled holes come between you and your dream rifle. It's just like I tell my women, why would we let a thin piece of latex come between our love?

I was thinking of an ATI or other reciever mount where it already has the bent bolt, but i haven't done a whole lot of research yet into all the available options.

The ati mount wont fit with the bolt you have now. Use the LER style & save yourself some indigestion & cash.
