Hey guys, looking to upgrade a 10/22 with a dlask barrel but not sure if I should get the sporter or bentz chamber. I'll be using it for fun plinking at the range, probably within 50 yards or so, and some hunting/gofer killing working the same range or so. I think I'd probably keep using the cheap 525 box federal ammo if possible, if that makes a difference.
Is there that much a difference between the two barrels?

Accuracy is directly related to the chamber dimensions, so it comes down to what you want out of the barrel.

If I am spending 200 bucks on a barrel I want the most accuracy I can get and the Dlask Bentz chamber is supposed to maintain the reliability expected of the 10/22.

A new extractor is always a recommendation, but that is a 20 dollar upgrade.

Only reliability issue I can find is that you cannot use CCI brand ammo.

I had emailed Shilen about their chambers with the same concern. Response was that their Shilen/Bentz chamber would work good with any factory ammo. I'd suggest contacting Dlask directly.

Not all bentz chambers are the same or so it would seem in my experience. I have a Mcgowan barrel from mystic that supposedly came with a bentz chamber however I can extract live rounds from it no problem. Now the bentz or "x-treme" chamber from dlask seems to be much tighter, (unless the x-treme is in fact to their own dimensions, however it is described as a bentz in the description of the barrel) that is live rounds are real hard to remove from the chamber, lets just say there is a lot of cursing involved if you get a dud round and do not have a rod to tap it out. That may be a consideration, running cheap ammo that may not go bang every time you run the risk of having to fight to remove the dud.

Stingers are a no go with that particular chamber as they are a bit longer. You can use Remington Yellow Jackets though. If it's the best accuracy that you want the Bentz chamber is what you want. It gave me incredible groups with the Federal Bulk from Wallmart.
