Beowulf

I've fired an upper in .50 AE. They're a pain to get up here and most suppliers in the states right now have all their supply going to sandier reagions from what I've been told. Recoil is quite mangable.

I'm not sure how the beowolf ballistics compare to 50 AE

They are a riot! If I could get an upper I would!:D

Somehow i have trouble believing that...

Its is scarce, yes.

But it is so because it is going in the sandbox ? I doubt it...

Appaently the last time they were called, all .50 uppers production was going to goverment contracts ......

On the other side of the coin, this is just hearsay so attach your own .02$ and double its value....:D

.50 BMG, true...

But .50 AE ?? I seriously doubt it...

The only cartidge other than 5.56mm in the AR platfrom that the .gov or .soc folk are buying is 6.8 - even that is not flying off the shelves.

Remember the BS about the .499

Commonsence here --- how hard is it to get ammo into theatre...
Would you want to run a gun that ain't got any commonality in ammo?

I know I can get 9mm and 5.56mm at any Coalition camp. (I can also steal or buy 7.62x39 near anywhere in too)

i touhgt the .50 upper where bought by the US coast guard to use against small boat ? anyway its nowhere close to the sand box

.50 Beowulf is in use by the US Coast Guard.

.50AE is in use by... me, and some other civilians for plinking or shooting wild boar, but that's about it. I'm not aware of any military use.

"The .50 Beowulf Entry carbine launches a 325-400 grain half-inch slug downrange at 1900-2000 fps. Now, without doing the actual math, that translates to some serious energy numbers. Suffice it to say, the .499 cal. is one powerful little pellet.

Recoil on the Alexander Arms .50 Beowulf was about the same as a 12-guage shotgun, however the .50 Beowulf has more energy and greater range than any 12-gauge slug gun..."
