Very useful post diopter - thanks.

I use the same primer to reload all the Berdan-primed brass I care to re-use (8x63 and GP11 primarily). I have found that they are comparable to a Standard Large Rifle primer. Here's a pic of the primers themselves. Beware when you open the package as they are loose packed!

They aren't cheap. They cost about $60/1000 last time I bought them, which is about three times what boxer primers cost.

Berdan and obsolete primers

I have a whole whack of these as well as some remington #57 and CIL 4B's. I couldn't find anyboby interested in them around here so I thought they were destined for the burn pit:p

Quick question for the Berdan expert... any difference in load data between Berdan/Boxer primer?

They would be used in milder plinking loads...

Generally, the Berdan primers are considered softer than Boxer.
No issues using a boxer load with Berdan.
Might have to increase charge weight a bit if you want to keep same speed.
