Hi folks,
Just wondering if anyone's familiar with the Beretta 1200 series.
Looking at schematics, it seems to me that it's not compatible with any sort of tube extension, due to the barrel lug that ties on to the magazine plug (between 11 and 13 on this schematic):sez_1200.jpg

Is this correct? The specific example I'm looking at is a 1200F chambered in 3" and holds 2+1 shells. I'd like to know if it's at all possible to modify anything to get at least 4+1 2.75" capacity.

I'd also be interested just to know anyone's general thoughts on these guns, since like I said there's not much info out there.

Your Beretta 1200/1200F has a plug in the magazine to conform to north American Hunting Regs for Migratory Game Birds.
Remove the plug and you will have room for four rounds in the tube and one in the chamber is what I was going to post until I read this part.
Read page 13 Section Magazine where is says such modification must be carried out by a gunsmith...read proprietary design, etc...

Thanks. Seems to me the "gunsmith only" warning is coverage because you need to drift the spring over.
Essentially, it's just that Part #9 needs to come out, then (and that there are possibly two #9s in the tube)?

Hi there.
If you remove the adapter, you may need a longer mag spring. While you’re in there, I’d replace the follower with a Wilson Combat high visibility follower. Or an S&J Hardware no-jam follower which I like better.

If you don’t have any use for the #9 mag tube adapter in your gun, I’d be interested in buying them from you. Message me if you’d like to part with them.

Hey Easy,

For some reason I knew you will response to this thread since you know these Berettas inside out lol.

Haven't talk to you for a long while how are you doing?

I ended up sold all mine a while back but still miss it to this date.

Wish you and family have a Merry Christmas and Happy holiday season!

Cheers

Oh my. Good to hear from you. Thank you for the wishes and a Very Merry Christmas to you and yours.
I still have the sling swivel you gave me on one of my 1201FPs. Love these guns. You don’t hear much about them any more and even less finding info on them. Not sure why.
Not to mention the amazing combat CDs I still watch occasionally.
Glad to see you around here. Most of the early members are sadly gone from CGN.
Be well and keep safe out there.

Beretta owned Benelli at this point in time, this is essentially a Benelli Super Black Eagle with a few changes and different brand markings. Many parts interchange between the 1200 and the SBE.
