hi; looking for opinions on this beretta shotgun. friend of mine has one for sale but i'm not familiar with them.
it's in great shape with standard stock(no pistol grip) & sights.
is it a reliliable shotgun?
it's very light & shoulders nicely but i wonder how it manages recoil?
thanks...

beretta is an excellent gun, very comparable to the benneli's of the time, I have had both the 1200 and the 1201 and they where reliable and overall a great gun.... I used one fora truck gun for a year.

value on them I would guess around the $500-$650 mark used in good shape, if it is like new you could probably easily go for $750. Ifyou want a pistol grip for it choate was the manufacturer for the factory ones and you find them around like numrich.

thanks for the response. it appears that they were not overly popular even though they are a decent autoloading shotgun.
i'm going to give buddies another look..maybe talk him into letting me fire it first.

in comparison to recoil, what pump shotguns have you fired? Ive only shot a winchester 1300 which is pretty light compared to other pump shotguns(mossberg 590 and rem 870) and the beretta had less recoil than that.

for me though, the gun eats everything. the cheapest rounds I can find it gobbles them up. also the benelli m1 super 90 pistol grip fits on the gun.

Dave's Metalworks has some very nice aftermarket parts that fit great and work fine.

Here's my 1201 F**ng Police with a few of Dave's components .... and speaking of a Benelli PG stock ...

Kicks like a mule, but I like it a lot. The bolt design is a thing of beauty.... and fast. :)

Not everybody likes this gun, yet people that do, absolutely love it and will not part with theirs, I found and feel the same.

I even added a HiViz Wilson follower in the mag tube. Didn't like the factory alloy one.

You may want to read up on it here: http://world.guns.ru/shotgun/sh27-e.htm and http://world.guns.ru/shotgun/sh02-e.htm

Regards.

One thing your going to notice with the beretta is HOW FAST it is, I am talking about shooting all 5+1 rounds in under 2.5 seconds... and this was with slugs and they all hit the target.

FAST MAN, FAST
