Is it just the sling plate that keeps this from working in other 1301 models? Just wondering why it's for the Tactical specifically.

This is the 1301 tactical because it's fits flush with the muzzle of the 1301 tactical. It's also internally blocked to keep it legal for Canada.
The 1301 take the benelli Nova thread patten so our nova +1,2,3 will work

On this note, I was unaware of the benelli nova extensions working with the 1301... is there any chance the bayonet mount tube extension for the nova would work with the 1301 tactical? Curious if it would stick past the muzzle and I imagine it would require you folks limiting the extension to +1?

You need at least 6.75 inch of magtube length for the M16 M7 bayonet.
The 1301 tube we make for the tactical is only around 5.3 inch long.
It could be made to work with nova bayonet magtube set but it would stick out.
Custom work ,I.E pluging thr magtube can be done for a fee
