Beretta 1301 or A400

Hi gents,

I would like opinions on which one to buy. I will be using it mainly for pidgeon control and for the odd clay shoot/ shooting stuff.
I already have a super black eagle. Awesome shotgun and I love it but I want another shotgun for the farm.
I can't stand when I miss a pidgeon and in the last few years I have seen the pidgeon population grow to a gross amount at multiple farm locations.
I have always wanted an A400 but now that this 1301 is out and claims that it is super fast I am undescisive.

Thoughts and recommendations appreciated.

I believe the 1301 (of which I own) is based off the A400 action...

The 1301 is the tacticool version of the A400 and uses the same action. Get the A400. The 1301 would be fine for stationary targets but less suitable for wing shooting and clay targets.

For clay and pigeon shooting the one I'd choose is the A400 Xplor because it has a 3" chamber. The A400s (Xtreme, Unico) with 3-1/2" chambers sometimes don't work as well with lighter target loads.

I have both the A400 Extreme Unico and the 1301 Comp Gen 2. The A400 has the kick off so it absorbs a bit more recoil and is longer.

If your not usIng 3 1/2” shells then get a shotgun that goes up to 3”.

My a400 extreme Unico cycles 7/8 ounce 2 3/4" shells no problem. I haven't had any failures yet, excellent one-and-done shotgun.
