The 1301 has been the top selling semi auto shotgun in Canada? That surprises me given the price point.

I do have one on my wishlist though.

Why? Have a look at most retailer's semi-auto shotgun listings, and sort them by price in ascending order. Typically the only guns below the 1301s are Canucks, Stoegers, and Mossbergs. The 1301s are head and shoulders above anything made by any of them, for not a hell of a lot more money.

A 1301 Comp was at the top of my list when I was looking for a new non-open division 3-gun shotgun, but I went with a Maxus 2 instead for the auto-load/mag block features.

I would have guessed one of the Canuck of Stoeger semi autos would have been since they go for about half the price of a 1301.

There are many cheaper options so their market share is divided.
1301 is almost in a league of it's own so it concentrate many purchases.
So the 1301 can win the best seller title even if a majority of buyers choose cheaper options.
