Cleaning this gun because it was full of sand. What a pain! The bolt gets hung up on something in the reciever and it takes me 15 min of messing around to get it out. After I have the bolt out I have no clue how I did it, lots of jiggling and swearing I guess. When I get the bolt back in the same thing happens, it gets caught up on something and it will not move forward or backwards. Lots of jiggling and swearing and 15 minutes later, presto back together agian. Is this how it is supposed to work?

Any suggestions, nick

I take my 391 apart about once a year, however I usually clean the bore & all accessable parts of the action after every hundred rounds.

You will find the bolt goes back in the receiver far easier with the trigger group removed, you can see how the parts fit with this item removed.

I give the trigger group, bolt & internal parts a good clean & lube while it's apart. That said the gun does not seem to ge overly dirty except in the gas action areas & that can be expectd.

Thanks, this should help. If this does not help I am going to have to find more four letter words if the ones I know now stop working.

It's a bit fiddly the first couple of times, but you'll get it in no time.

I used to totally strip mine after every shoot, even if just to wipe it down, but at least clean the crud out of the gas system.

Taking the trigger group out first, and putting it back last, that seems to work best for me. Saves a lot of frustration and swearing. Thanks for all the help.
