Hi guys, I've been shooting International and ATA trap for a few months now at my local club, and I really enjoy it. I've been using my Beretta field gun for both, with some success but now I want to step up to a dedicated trap gun. I'm considering the Beretta 682 Gold E Trap model. A member at our club let me shoot his and it worked great. I found one of these new shotguns for sale in Vancouver, but its the combo rig only. comes with either a 30" or 32" O/U barrel, and another 34" single barrel. I understand why you only need one barrel for ATA trap, but why would I need the additional expense when you can just load the bottom barrel of the O/U and your good to go. This seems better to me, since I will only be using one gun combination for both Int. and ATA. What is the advantage of switching to the single barrel for ATA? I dont want to spend more than I have to, but I want to get a rig that will last me for the years to come.
