Beretta 687 trigger tune?

Bill Gillette can work wonders on triggers, but you have to ask yourself if its worth the trouble sending it to the US.

Really as far target shooting goes in shotguns, you don't want a really light trigger.

Nor should you really be drawing up the slack out of the trigger, I know it's tempting and it's especially hard habit to break for pistol and rifle shooters.

But you should slap the trigger on a shotgun, not pull it in incrementally, this leads to measuring the target and also firing prematurely.

It's best to keep your finger either off or just lightly rested on the trigger, slap it quickly when the target looks right.

Jason Spencer in nepean could likely help you out, but I don't think its worth it.

Nothing quite like being on high or low 8 and setting up, calling "Pull" and having an insta-BANG to go with it. That's when you find out for sure whether you hold on the house or off it. Did that twice and then I stopped prepping the trigger.

I haven't seen that happen at my home club, but there are lots of clubs i've visited that have some pretty nice patterns on the house!

You get those AD because you put your finger on the trigger before seeing the target. There is plenty of time to move the finger to the trigger for the shot , ONCE the target is seen. My 391 has a Cole trigger at 3 # breaks like fine china. My DT11 trigger was redone by Mario (Beretta man in the van in Europe and THE guy at the Olympics) to also a crisp 3 #. Steve Milton in Ontario at Precision arms can give you a nice trigger!

BTW. number one safety rule in using firearms: one does NOT have his/her finger on the trigger unless the target is present!

Yeah I hear what you are saying but I never mentioned getting the trigger lightened. Just creep removed. I have owned several 687's old and new, AYA's and Brownings.
My current Beretta is a lovely gun except for a noticeable amount of creep.
Nothing will happen until bird season ends,
Thanks for the recommendations though.

Sorry didn't mean to sound grumpy I am far from a competition clay shooter I shoot around 2-3000 clays during the year the upland hunt all fall and winter (season depending).
Snap shooting I don't notice it but when there is more time to see and lead a bird I can definitely notice it. Again I don't want a light trigger just crisp.
Cheers Matt
