"The benefits of Steelium Plus became clearly evident during bunker trap. The barrel/target relationship to the outgoing birds was easy to identify and maintain. Very little target float or lead was required — implying stringent barrel regulation."

So the Steelium Plus barrel metallurgy reduces the lead required to hit a target. I am truly impressed.

He was not implying lead as more about shot placement regarding lower and upper barrels! Both barrels were shooting in the same area!

We would call that Point of Impact, a term one would think a gun writer would be familiar with to make his articles a little more clear..... :)

Interesting about he forcing cones however, I've known quite few guns now that have little to no forcing cones left in them, definitely helps to smoothen out the recoil, but it's still there.

I think ol' Irwin was getting paid by the word for that review ... hence the bafflegab about "very little
target float or lead" (as in forward allowance) being "required - implying stringent barrel regulation"

Smells like the stuff from the south end of a north-bound male bovine !

Everything is better once you've been wined and dined.

Beretta collects gun writers like charms on a bracelet. A gun here, some clothing there, perhaps a little trip somewhere nice to do some shooting, fine Italian wine and food along the way all in return for slobbering reviews of their latest wundergun.

Beretta collects gun writers...

Yes, I'm afraid they have had an old American pattern to follow and emulate .... really, the reason why there was Nilo Farms and Remington's Lordship Outfit out on the Chesapeake. Lord knows how many "gun writers" and other assorted flakes were wined and dined down there. They really should be a little choosier though. A clumsy review is perhaps worth a trifle less than a well written one from a knowledgeable source.

I think I'll wait for someone like Bruce Buck to get around to reviewing the 692. He likes to be wined and dined too, but at least you can follow what he says when he writes !

Buck is one of the better shotgun writers. But that's damning with faint praise.

BB is a very good friend of mine for over 25 years and you can view many of his comments at http://www.shotgunreport.com/ While writing for the mags, one will not outright say something is a piece of *****, BB will politically correct write that a certain shotgun has a few problems. One does not want to shoot the foot of one that feeds one. But one can creatively infer that something is wrong. When we wrote for "The Clay Pigeon", we were given full latitude to criticise! It sometimes reduced income for the mag!

When can we get these? or at least see them>? Touching and shooting them would be cool too.

Which store is 'The Store' to order from? I can order from any store....but is there a store that will help me fit it ? Easy just to sell a gun.
