Can't seem to find anything specific online regarding the Beretta 71 and hypervelocity (Not High velocity)
ammo and slide battering or other potential damage. I know some other 22 auto's can't handle it. Referring to
CCI Velocitors in particular. Please weigh in.

I personally wouldn't subject the gun to the un necessary stress of the hyper ammo due to the aluminum frame, but that's my .02

I found my Beretta 71 gets way less accurate with High Velocity ammo, and was TERRIBLE with the few mags of Velocitors I fed it.

It LOVES standard velocity .22 for both function and accuracy.

YMMV

Have shot some Vipers and Stingers with the only negative being extra flash and blast as far as I can see. I would only use such ammo and Velocitors on a testing and as needed basis in my wife's 71.

I would not feed any alloy frame 22 pistol a steady diet of hyper velocity ammo.

The Berettas can withstand the CCI Stingers as apparently that is what Mossad used in them, but certainly not for steady plinking or target practice.

I have found cheap high velocity works well and is very accurate. I must check it sometime with std vel ammo for function.
