What about that .22lr pistol? Is it worth the price? Is it a good pistol.

In the past, I had a model 76 and it was a good pistol; is the 87 the same type of pistol? Is it all steel, like the 76?

What are your opinions?

Thanks

I like mine. It's a good looking gun and very accurate. It had some teething problems at first but now cycles anything except Am Eagle.

The T87 is very light, about 29 oz. I like this for protracted one handed shooting, though some people prefer a heavier pistol.

The integrated rail makes it very simple to attach a red dot or other sight.

It's all metal construction. (I think some kind of alloy. But don't worry, it's plenty strong.)

On the negative side, the trigger is only so-so. The pull is a bit on the heavy side (I'd guess about 5 lbs, haven't used a pull gauge) and there is a fair bit of overtravel. Discussed this with a pistolsmith but the available options didn't seem worth the time or money.

Also, the magazines are a pain (literally) to load. The shallow little follower button digs into one thumb and the sharp mag lips prick the other one. This mag is a poor effort for a company that's been making guns for 400 years. Maybe they could be modified, but I think the best solution is to get a Magula Baby Uplula loader.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend a T87 for a first or only pistol, but it's a nice addition to a collection.
