Beretta 87FS Cheetah What are they like?

Hi All

I’ve been eyeing up the Beretta Cheetah 87FS for a little while. With all the talk of late on the board about re-barreling 12.6 guns I’m once again thinking about this option. So assuming that I can find a gun smith that can convert it, what’s it like to shoot? Since I’ve never seen one in the flesh, is it a gun for small hands? I have a 92FS and love it, so I’m guessing the cheetah is just a smaller version?
 
I should be getting my 84F cheetah this week and I'll let you know. I may have to sell it before I even shoot it due to my exhaust system falling off.
You may have trouble getting a barrel for it though.
EDIT 87FS= .22lr 84F= .380acp not the same!
I don't think I've ever seen an 87FS.

The 87 Cheetahs are great little plinkers. My 87BB has flawless ergonomics, is super accurate, feeds anything and just oozes quality. I would never part with it. Mine had a six-inch factory barrel that I had cut down to 106 mm and recrowned. Unfortunately, I do not know of any aftermarket extended barrels for these guns.

Wow, that's one of the few guns that doesn't look bad with an extended barrel. Sort of like a mini-92. I like.
 
Thanks for the reply shelby & the pics!! Is it a gun that would fit small hands? The idea of getting this was partly because I'm looking for a gun my daughter would like to shoot and partly because I like Berretta guns.
 
If you can't find the 87 cheetah, and want a Beretta I'd look at Neos with a 4.5" barrel; the gun has a VERY small grip (way too small for me) and 4.5in version should be a good (small) size for a kit.

The 87 is a single-stack gun and is very ergonomic for both large & small hands.
