Hey folks,

RESOLVED.

Just tried to install a few parts i received from FoC (great crew; highly recommend). Got the D spring as well as the fluted guide rod and recoil spring installed easy enough, but the short reach trigger is being difficult.

I have the tear down of the pistol down pretty good (though still fiddly with the springs), and the original trigger pops out easily. The new Wilson Combat trigger does not even pretend to fit into the opening. It appears a touch too wide and brings up on the upper edge of the slot.

Anyone else have this issue? All videos/blogs i have researched show the new trigger just falling into place. I would be disappointed if i could not install this 60 dollar piece of steel. I don't want to file it down as i would ruin the finish the entire length of the trigger.

Any help appreciated.

Update!

Just like everything else in life, brute force, ignorance, and a hell of a lot of lube (ballistol) got the job done.

Looks like it was mostly the rails that were burred. Id rather a marr on the trigger than start filing at the gun. Plus, now my 92 is super lubed...

i just put a wilson combat short trigger in my 96.
youtube video was excellent & everything went into place perfectly.
the little trigger spring was challenging lol.
the short reach trigger along with a D spring make a world of difference.
well worth it imho..

I bought a sightly used 92A1 with the short reach trigger installed. I wear a medium large golf glove. What I found was the trigger was perfect for DA reach but almost to short for SA. To be fair I have more time on the stock trigger so it might just be a casr of getting used to the shorter SA reach. If my hands were larger I would not go with the short reach trigger. Trigger reaches are pretty subjective so I would suggest it really can fall to personal choice.

Take Care

Bob
