hey im trying to decide which one of these guns to get. i like that the beretta is semi auto and is used by our military, but the gp100 fires the 357 mag/38special and i have a ruger 77/357. also about the beretta on the newer beretta 92fs's are the frames plastic or still aluminum alloy?

Unless you are American the CF forces do not use the Beretta. IMO, if u want to learn how to shoot a handgun the revolver is the way to start. The fact that it can shoot both 38Spl and 357 is a magnum. Its all about trigger control, grip and a few other basics. You wont be disappointed with the GP100 if you can find one.

Hard to decide, you've pick up the two distinct choice..... pistol or revolver,.....for me the choice is ....... take both....lollll, if you want to shoot 600 rounds days at the shootin range, well the choice is the pistol. if you want to shoot a box or two, the choice is the revolver....

I have the Beretta PX4 Storm and the 92fs, flawless pistols...., and I have the S&W .357 magnum and the .44 magnum, both revolver are very accurate and fun to shoot, but I never go for a shooting day at the range with only those...., pistol first for 600-1000rounds and then for the end of day the revolvers for 1-2 box max, .....

i ment the us military sorry. and i have shot many handguns so im not getting it to learn how to shoot. just getting a new handgun to show of the the boys at the range and just to have fun with.

Do you like picking up brass on the ground or dump them on the table? I like revolvers more, but it's really your choice based on what you want at that given time. Eventually you may have both so buy whichever one is in stock.

I can honestly say I shot both the same day, within minutes of each other. After two mags from the 92, my finger was sore..... it was a wierd feeling. My GP100 felt like it should, shooting DA or SA.

That turned me off the Berretta right now......

Side note: Had my SR9 there also, it was a HUGE hit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Probly the best 9mm you will buy... hands down.....

Having owned both, if I had to choose one I'd go with the GP, just because it was so nice to shoot. And 2 choices of ammo is always a win.

Always found the 92 frame to be too big.
