I'm getting a used Beretta 96G at an incredible deal (no I can't get another for anyone else, sorry) and have a few questions.

All the websites I've looked at suggested getting a 1911 mainspring. I have handled a 92F and hoticed how much more maneagable the trigger pull was when I replaced the stock (DA/SA) mainspring with a 96D (DAO) mainspring. Anyone have any experience using the 1911 mainspring in the Beretta?

I already have the Hogue grips and am looking at getting a better trigger spring. Is there anything else I should get for it?

I know the D spring works cuz I've done it myself. I have heard that a lot of guys in the US military would swap the Beretta mainspring for a 1911 mainspring (I'm guessing this started before Beretta had a DAO pistol). I'm curious if anyone has put a 1911 mainspring in their Beretta on CGN.

depending on the spring, it will likely be the same as the DA spring. Lots of guys have tried it and yes it does work.

trigger job, stainless guide rod, speed bump trigger, or trigger bar (speed bump triggers are hard to find since Ernest quit making them), better sights (depending on what yours are), skeletonized hammer..... shall I continue?

oh man, I ran spell check and it wanted to replace "skeletonized" with "sodomized" that's funny!
