Hey guys So ipurchased the beretta a300 xtrema first time trap shooting I was shooting winchester 2 3/4 1 1/8
2 3/4 dram and the bolt would stay closed after the one and only shell being put through it . I went back to the place I bought the gun they said use 3 dram so I did problem was gone gun cycled great . Today I bought a case of challenger 2 3/4 1 1/8 3 dram and the bolt would stay close I would say 90 percent of the time . I know the winchester loads work well but I thought the berettas would shoot almost everything you put through it. Any input would be appreciated.
The chamber is 3 1/2

Shoot it more with 1 1/8 oz game loads not target loads or better yet some high brass hunting loads, they require a break in period. My A400 xtreme does the same thing. It would cycle game loads no problem but 1 oz target wouldn't lock the bolt back. I tried 1 1/8 oz target loads and would only lock back a few times per box. 1oz game loads are no problem. Just give it some break in time.

Definetly agree with redneck , break in is needed. I broke mine in with the heaviest loads I could find. After about 60-80 rounds of the big and heavy it would cycle anything I fed it.

Mine does that with target loads too. I lubed it up pretty good with a high quality oil and now it locks the bolt about 60% of the time

You need to run a couple of boxes of high brass shell through it, then a good cleaning and it will be fine. Been there.
