I am lookin at a used Beretta shotgun,
What I was wondering is - when I went to look up info on the gun I could only find info on the Urika 2, What I would like to know is differences between the 2 and how to tell which is which.
Anyone know??

the urika 2 has a redesigned gas piston... really not much different than the urika. I loved mine, very soft recoil, never jammed, easy to clean once you do it a couple of times. Great gun, just don't over pay for it. 900 to 1000 depending on wood or synthetic. new synthetics are selling for 999.00.

The Urika 2 gas piston has a serrated edge that spins which is supposed to by a "self-cleaning" feature. The Urika 2 also comes with Beretta Xtra grain "wood" which is a veneer that makes plain wood look fancy.

IIRC the Urika 2 is so marked on the receiver. I don't think the improvements of the Urika 2 would make it more desirable than a standard Urika but it does look a little nicer.

I have one of each and they are the same except the features that CB mentioned. The supposed to be self cleaning serrated edge seems to make real cleaning more difficult. Constantly catches the cleaning cloth. The good thing is that both models need very little every use cleaning. I pull a bore snake through and wipe down the outside metal with G-96 or break free lightly sprayed on a cloth.
