Beretta Black Onyx Pro Field in 20ga talk to me

Hey guys~I was discussing these guns with a buddy last night..... They look awfully nice, but I'm curious if these are the same 686s...if they were ever discontinued (get the impression they were)...who might stock in the GTA, if anyone has a lead on a used one, etc. Nothing in the EE. I've read that some guys prefer/preferred them (aesthetics), some say that the receiver wears quicker than the non-black ones, etc. I called a CGN sponsor here in Ontario, they say they can't get them from Benelli...but they appear to be current manufacture.

The Onyx was released in a couple of configurations from plain Jane to extra wood ugly. In the middle somewhere there was a release that I believe was for Cabelas. These particular models had a higher grade wood than the standard Silver Pigeon, some 2 or 3 times nicer. The stigma remained from the previous failings and they never were as popular as maybe they should have been. Cabelas discontinued the run and cleared out the last at significant discount.

The one I had was a stunning piece that I truly enjoyed spending time with. It had slightly more cast than I like and my hunting partner wanted it badly so off it went. There was a nice 20 on the EE a while back but it may have sold. Beware of the extra wood models, although functional they are nothing compared to the high grade release.
