Hello to all
I was recently reading about the BM59 and wondered why I have heard so little about them in Canada. They are based on the M1 Garand but with some fine Italian improvements, like a box magazine .They seem like a great surplus product. I have heard that our Southern neighbors have a pile of them in parts, namely Springfield armory and Reese surplus but want too much$$. Anybody know anything else about them?? There must be some more out there that some enterprising Canadian could bring in at a reasonable price, not to mention m14 parts from the Phillipines.

I do not know about the pile of parts in the U.S. BM59 parts have been very difficult to find in the U.S.
The owner of Reese is none other than Bob Reese ,the former ofner of SA inc . He gave the company to his children and he just plays with BM59 stuff now .
Alot of the Reese stuff like the buttplates and folding stocks are reproductions .They are the only source of BM59 stuff in the USA that I know of . I do have 2 both BM62's which are the short barreled versions and they are a hoot !
