I often bring my 15 year old daughter to the range. I got her a Ruger single 6 that she enjoys. But now she wants to shoot something bigger. I have an 92FS and a Walter P99 both in 9mm, and have after changing the grips on the Walther so she can try it. But she doesn’t really like the recoil. I guess it’s still a bit much for her small size. I’ve toyed with the idea of getting a Beretta 84FS Cheetah and getting it re-barreled so that it’s not a prohib. I can deal with the extra cost. I was wondering about the pros & cons or just the experiences of those who have tried 9mm Kurtz or the Beretta Cheetah

I've got an 84 Cheetah (.380 ACP) and I really like it. Even with Pachmayr grips on it, it still doesn't feel big in my hands, and I am blessed with stubby fingers!

Recoil is very manageable (the grips help a lot). If your daughter could physically handle the 9 mm recoil, despite not actually liking it, I would think she would have an easier time with the .380. It's a fun gun to shoot.

Ive got an 86 CHEETAH. Good for small hands, tipup barrel is nice for a weaker hand that may not be able to rack the slide when necessary. Recoil is managable. Fun to shoot and restricted not prohib!
