crapy short review.
Had my NR beretta cx4 storm 9mm carbine to the range yesterday sighting in the new scope. Its a cheap 3x9 Tasco . It hits the clays at 100 yards every time. Whats wrong with that ? LOL. It functioned 100% with all ammo."124g" It worked like it was suppose to. The trigger is mushy "feels like my T97", but doesn't effect accuracy. Fairly quiet, and not much recoil. I find it a bit more accurate than my JR carbine, and WAY better than my old High Point carbine.
Will test it for 150 & 200 yards in the next few days. Its not a jammo matic, or flimsy built. Glad I bought it. 300 rounds down the pipe,..no hic-ups.

Shot one at the west Ed mall gun range. That one shot really well. I was impressed with it. Had a red dot on it. Kinda want one now. Need something for the indoor range for next winter. A carbine or a blackhawk?

They are fun rifles to shoot. Yeah, the trigger isn't the greatest and I found trying to use the iron sights difficult to use 'cause I was having a hard time trying to get a low enough cheek weld.

I have one and it's quickly becoming one of my favorites! I topped it with a Vortex Sparc. Co-witnesses with the irons perfectly. Have not shot it for groups yet, but it hits what I'm aiming at every time. Functions flawlessly with 9mm mags but has the occasional failure to feed with 40cal mags. It shoots cast bullets fantastic. Really likes the little 356-95-RF Lee / Ranch Dog bullet. It is short though, and the failures to feed are a little more common with these short rounds. The little flat nose monsters sure pop gophers though!

Have you shot groups with it yet? I want one of these so bad.

Well it hits the little round Clays I set up at 100 yards. They are about 4 inches around. So I suppose Rabbits, gophers, and prairie chicken would be doable at that range. LOL. Yotes would be real easy. No targets used yet.

You didn't actually whittle down the rear sight housing to make room for that monstrous scope, did you?

you bet. its a problem with these guns. what else do you do,.....put on 3inch scope rings LOL. Not worried about it. the rear sight still folds up and functions fine.

well...don't run a 3x9 Tasco scope on these. It wont hold zero. Had it on my 10/22 and worked perfect. Must be the recoil or something from the Storm,..not sure. Put it back on my 10/22, and worked like it should.
So lets try this storm with iron sights. That turned out great,...they are dead on and very accurate,..I'm impressed. I set my 8x8 metal targets up @100 yards and cleaned them off easily. I guess I might cough up some cash and put something different on one day. You win some and ya loose some.LOL

Actually, I did almost put on 3-inch rings...well, not quite, but when I mounted a scope on mine I used high see-through rings that just barely allowed the use of the sights. Now I just use a red-dot, and I have a scope in QD rings that I can put on if I want to do any serious accuracy testing. LOL, not much serious shooting with this gun. It's a fun-shooting toy, pure and simple. I also had good success with a red-dot on a 45-degree offset mount, allowing you good access to the irons. I've never been a fan of "co-witnessing" irons/optics but that might be worth a try for you also.

I've had a JR, and shot a Sub2000, and neither one holds a candle to the Storm, IMHO. You'll love it. :)

Try a longer eye relief scope. those low end scopes usually have a pretty tight eye relief but sub-$200 scopes with much better eye relief can be had. I have thrown out enough of the inexpensive ones to buy at least 3 mid-priced ones. Live and learn. One example would be the Weaver Classic Rimfire 2.5-7x28mm 3.7" eye relief ...

Scopes with eye relief are better suited for the Storm, but if you look at the photo the OP posted you can see that the real problem is the size of the scope. It looks like he had to trim the rear sight ears just to fit that big honking scope in between the front and rear sights.

I must say, I wouldn't whittle on a $1000 rifle to put on a $50 scope. Doesn't do anything good for resale value.

Love mine as well! Running it with a TRS-25 red dot and it's a nice match. Lots of pics and more info here: http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/1040413-The-Beretta-CX4-Thread

Its customized now,..probably worth $100 bucks more on the EE LOL.
