Beretta CX4 Storm

Hey out there, anyone have experience with the PX4 Storm? I have a chance at one in .40, have heard a couple good things about them, but want more info. I've been told they are good quality, and really accurate to 100 yard, and with practice to 200. Can anyone confirm or deny?

PX4 Storm is a pistol. I am not sure how accurate you could be with a pistol to 200 yards. Maybe with alot of practice. You probably mean CX4 Storm, which is a carbine.

Great carbines, can be loads of fun, and are cheaper to feed then .223 For about $500 a number of gunsmiths would re-barrel them to non-restricted status with 18.5" barrel. You can use a Beretta 96 pistol mag with the Beretta CX4 in .40 to have 10 round capacity (If your CX4 comes with the right mag release/mag catch then out of the box, otherwise it's about $45 worth of parts from Brownells).

I'm guessing you mean CX4 as you are posting in Black Rifles. Mine is 9mm and accurate to 'minute of clay' on the far berm at Abby. This is only a 100m range so I have never tried longer distances, but at anything under 100 you can squeeze off shots as fast as you want and put them on target every time. Re-barrel for non-restricted and you have a great woods plinker. Easy to take down for cleaning, convertible for LH operation and so far (2000+ rnds) utterly reliable. This is probably the most fun gun in the safe. I'm not a big fan of Beretta pistols, but the CX4 is a keeper.
 
Well, just because the gun can do it to 100 and 200 yards, the shooter that can do that with a handgun is few and far between. The PX4 is a fine gun, one of the major plus factors is the ability to have a CX4 that uses the same mags, great for IDPA and IPSC. There are several different versions of it IIRC like DA only, SA/DA, safe action (perhaps more).

Telling you the truth I compared one side by side with a Glock 17 (as I was looking for 9mm). Others may and will probably tell you differently (as opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one) but when the PX4 was $1025.00 and the Glock was $650.00 I went with the Glock. I never owned a Glock before. I really had no interest in the Glock, but... Honestly I was leaning HEAVILY towards the PX4 simply because of the CX4 thing, but now that I can get an AR lower for Glock 9mm magazines, I think I will be just as happy building one of those.

I guess it is really up to what you like best. Beretta is EXCELLENT quality usually. The few PX4's I have handled all felt really nice. It felt like a solid gun. These standard ones with the Black barrels look better to me then having that little bit of silver sticking out of the front. If you are getting a good deal, like I said the new one I looked at a couple days ago in Toronto was $1025.00, then go for it.
 
You can get a brand new F model PX4 Pistol for $950 if you look. I know it's still very expensive compared to other handguns. It is very good quality and the rotating barrel system makes for super light recoil. Magazine compatibility with the CX4 carbine is also a plus. The carbine is lots of fun and good value for the money.
 
There is a Beretta 40 S&W handgun that uses a mag that can be used in the CX4, just have to make sure the CX4 he is looking at is the one that uses the mag from that gun. NICE!!! It is more than likely that the one he is looking at HAS the right one (or ones) so he'll just have to match them up if he wants more (as I don't know if what they are for is always written on them). And YES, the CX4 is great quality and you can get it to 200 yards no problem if you have an optic that will let you see that far with clarity & it can be done with only a little practice if you are an experienced shooter already.

Thanks for the info, much appreciated. This seems like a good way to get into the tacticool game with a quality firearm for a decent price. (I changed the title too, thanks for the suggestion
 
I guess if you like the "tacticool" thing sure. But I always like the rifle because of its stream lines, ergonomics and easy of use/cleaning. I don't like the idea of buggering it all up with a bunch of warts coming off it from every angle. If it were me? I would put a Streamlight TRL-1 or TRL-2 (or similar small footprint, but good quality) light on the rail that can be pulled out from under the barrel, a nice red dot, like the Burris XTS-135 Tactical Red Dot (with their nice mount in Xtra high, with a slight mod to be able to use the open sites still), the bottom rail kit so you can use a grip, or bipod (or the combo one that is available). That's it. The gun will still look fine and not too bumpy. Also, once you know the magazine, I recommend you get as many as you can get.
