Beretta M9 extractor removal issues

I'm having some trouble removing the extractor retaining pin from my Beretta M9.

The sides of the hole at the top of the slide seem to be crimped inward, partially blocking the retaining pin from coming out.

Anyone seen this issue before?

It's staked to prevent movement upwards but a punch in the correct direction (which direction is correct I don't remember - Google WILL give you the answer). There is a trick to it, some good YouTube videos on the removal. Not hard just a little trick I can't remember.

Good luck, you'll get it.

Edit: Here's one I found when I changed out mine. Took seconds after I saw it:

Same on mine. I used a lot of google and YouTube when I disassembled for cerakote. Make sure to stake it again when u put it back In and make sure it's tight. Mine walked out a bit so staked it tighter

Shouldn't have to "unhammer em". By hammering the pin outwards with a drift punch it will force the staking out as well. Brass drift is your friend. But it's hard to find one small enough

I didn't have much trouble removing it on my 92. Take a correct size punch/pusher place it under the pin and using the weight of the side as hammer tap the pusher onto a hard surface (with out separating the slide and the tool). Or you can flip the side upside down and tap the pusher with a hammer lightly till it comes out.
