I was curious if any CGN Milsurp pistol fans have seen or own the Beretta Model 1934 pistol which was the Italian service pistol of WW2,...chambered for the .380 or as the Italian's refered to it as "9mm Corto"...there was a interesting article on this pistol in "Guns & Ammo" military surplus magazines.....was a very reliable pistol,..and a popular battle field pickup by allied troops...also Roy Dunlap...a US armorer who served in North Africa wrote in his book..."Ordnance Went Up Front"...that the Model 1934 was by far the best made and sturdy autoloading "pocket pistol" he had ever seen....though it lacked power with its .380 cartridge..it more than made up for it in reliability.

I've seen them, but unfortunately, lacking a 12(6) I'll never own them. Neat little guns, very well made / finished.

I've seen several with restricted length barrels installed. Fairly easy job if you have a 9mm barrel blank to work with. Any competent smith can do it.

The longer barrel makes field stripping a little harder, but not impossible. After conversion such pistols have to be re-verified to change the classification and the old barrel destroyed.

Oh thats just so wrong:( . I appriciate though, that you do what you can to own one, and it beats seeing it go to the crusher.....;)

This one was really quite a beater. While I don't like the longer barrel on it I do appreciate how much the CFC had to spend to make me do it. I had a firearms reference hearing in 2000. While we were waiting for a judge we talked. The firearms expert that was flown in (along with the revoking officer) complained that my case was costing them $20,000. :dancingbanana:

That's just like some liberal appointed bureaucrat to say how many $ it is costing...to hassle a law abiding gun owner like yourself....but ask him to do something about the gang shootings in Toronto and out here on the West Coast.....stupid #### head . of a liberal...has his head shoved up his ass so far.....if the government had any balls they would deport these useless scumbags back to Haiti..or wherever.... ok...."Rant over now..".

I really have a soft spot for these pistols. Beautifully made, lovely little guns.

This is my pair one's an Italian Army vet bring back from Africa came with holster and spare magazine (plus he brought back a MP.38 and magazine pouches but I didn't get those).

The other is a Finnish army contract pistol.

:runaway: Self Turn off Switch! It's ok X Westie. I have to shut off my anti-Liberal switch sometimes too. It's unfortunate though that sometimes inaminate objects get KIA'ed in the process:(

Also loved the money issue, from the CFC Wanker. Anyhow a more serious question, so what was the verdict, to become a 12(6) wreck the pistol, what about just granting you full grand father, as I assume you legally purchased the gun? I am in a simular situation.

The Beretta pistol is an interesting proposition, apparently a serviceable weapon at an affordable price.

Issued to the Italian Army, its design must be utterly idiot proof. The first order of business, then, would be to thoroughly scrub the weapon to remove the smell of body odor, cheap wine and cowardice.

And you could easily double your money by plating it in gold and selling it to a pimp.
