I just got my hands on a Beretta 12 Guage s/s Model 408. I can't seem to find much info on it though. It is from the early 50's, It has XIII stamped on it. From what I read, that may mean it is from 1953?

I guess I am looking to find out what it is worth and anything else about it?

Thanks for any help!

Cdn_traveller, the date code XIII indicates 1957, not 1953. You just take 1944 and add the value of the roman numerals, eg. 1944 + 13 (XIII) = 1957.

Not familiar with a 408, however the Beretta 409PB's were mfg. from
1934 - 1964 in 12, 16, 20 & 28 ga., with 27", 28" & 30" bbls, with various chokes, double triggers and plain extractors. The 410E was a higher grade ejector version of the 409 in 12, 20 & 28. The 410 a 32" - 10 ga. The 411E was a flase side plate version of the 410E.

A 409PB in good condition is worth maybe $500 - $750 - but a very reliable solid gun. The 410E may bring $750 - $ 1000 . In either grade, 20 or 28 ga ... PLEASE contact me by PM, especially if it has 28" barrels !!!
