Beretta Model 76 or S&W Model 41

Depends what you want it for. I've owned a Beretta 76. Nice gun. Reliable and fun to shoot. It is not in the same league as a S&W 41. The S&W 41 is far more accurate and, IMHO, miles ahead of the Beretta 76. YMMV.

I have a Beretta model 76. It is a good reliable gun, however it is a club grade or entry level target pistol and no, it is not in the same league as a S&W 41. On the other hand it costs half or less what the S&W costs.

I agree. There is a reason there are so many model 41s. Not many people have seen the Beretta 76 other than pictures. While an interesting gun it shoots rings around the S&W. ;)

Well kept secret from Beretta. IMO better than the Model 89 and the more recent 87T.
This pistol is a solid, consistent and accurate piece that has stood the test of time since its introduction in 1968.

The Beretta Model 76 has been replaced with their Model 87. You will have trouble finding aftermarket grips for it, if the factory grips don't suit you. And that's if you can find one at all.
The Smith 41 is a true target pistol. Aftermarket grips are relatively easy to find as are magazines. A new one isn't cheap though and they are extremely fussy about what ammo they'll both shoot well and cycle the action.
But the Smith.
