Where or who should I call if I wanted to buy a O/U barrel for my 682S?

I can't seem to find much info online for Canada and Beretta.

I am looking for a 32" single or double barrel.

Thanks

I have tried before and you may not be too successful. But give it a try! Ed tried to buy a Un Single barrel for three years for our 682E and Stoger would not import just that barrel insisted we buy a new 682E trap combo and told us to sell our double 682E.

I was on the Beretta USA website and they sell barrels. How hard would it be to get one shipped to my parents in Texas and then somehow get it across the border. Or is that a bad idea? I could pay someone to import it but how much is the question.

Maybe I should start another post about importing a barrel. Any ideas?

It would be a bad idea as the seller (US seller that is ) must have an export permit. Canadian customs doesn't give a rip but the barrel wouldn't make it through US customs and having someone bring it across for you exposes them to severe US penalties. There are many threads on this subject but the end result is the same, the exporter must have a permit to export.

I am new to this and will have to look up those threads to find out how to do it or if I can legally.

There is a store (Prophet River) that can import firearms. Can they import barrels the same way they import firearms?

I will read a little more on here and learn a little more too. Any help is appreciated.

Except for the 685 all 680 series barrels are interchangeable, some fitting may be required. Where the major issues are is in the rib height, so your comb height may need to be adjusted to match the rib height. So, for example, your current gun may have a flat rib barrel and your comb is set up for that barrel configuration. If you buy a step rib trap barrel, your comb would have to be raised or you will be looking at the back of the rib.

It is against US law to export firearms or parts, like receivers, barrels, trigger assemblies, etc. without an export permit. Miscellaneous parts can be exported up to a value of $100 without a permit. Most gun dealers won't sell to Canadians as it would jeopardized their firearms licence. They can tell you are Canadian from your credit card, so don't try and buy it and have it sent to another address. A US citizen that buys it for you is also in jeopardy. Having said that, it is unlikely that you will get caught. The Canadian government only cares that a firearm or receiver is registered, but mainly they want the tax.

Many American individuals will sell you a barrel and ship it. Most don't know that that is against their law and some don't care. If you purchase one in this manner and have it shipped here, make sure they don't put gun barrel on the customs declaration. Machined part works well.

Joel Etchen has probably the best selection of Beretta barrels. Here is a link to his web site http://www.joeletchenguns.com/ Another good place to buy barrels is on the discussion forums on Trapshooters.com http://www.trapshooters.com/

Good luck.

PS: Prophet River Firearms can import a barrel for you.
