hey all, i recently purchased the beretta px4 storm and its a beauty but i'm finding the slide is very sticky, its jamming open alot and doesn't seem to wanna load the next round without coaxing..anyone else having this problem? i've tried stripping it a few times, oiling and cleaning it and it doesn't seem to help. thanks

My PX4 prefer to be ''wet'' when shooting rounds....was yours dry or wet when firing ? ,, also, did you try others ammo ? with Blazer aluminum ammo it works just flawless, but yes it will eat any ammo, however, I found that Blazer alu 115grs works very good for me ...

hm, sorry for the newbie question but what exactly are you referring to by wet and dry? as for ammo, it was just range bought ammo so i'll def keep that in mind for next time..

don't be sorry for asking questions, I do same thing :) , wet/dry firing, I meant that my px4 do work when the slide is not so much lubricated with oil, however, I find that when I lubricate more the slide and parts where the slide moves on the frame, it works even better, more lubricated = ''wet'' , and also you can try shoot white grease (in spray can) inside the slide (in the groove where it slide on the frame), mine is wet enough sometime oil appears here and there outside, just works fine and shoot flawless.....

at your local store, look for G96 gun treatment oil, this is what I use, I spray a lot on/in the frame, slide, barrel, etc, good for cleanning and lubricate, let drip excess oil....

Definitively recommend to buy differents kind of ammo.....brand, weight...., one box each...

Ok thanks for the tips..I assumed thats what you meant by wet but just wanted to double check. Im def gonna buy some higher end ammo instead of range stuff

If by range stuff you mean remington UMC or winchester white box, both should cycle perfectly reliably in your pistol. As stated, try lubing it down, and see if it helps. Another thing to look at is your hand positioning. Is your support hand rubbing/pressing against the slide or slide lock lever? You mention your a new shooter, so you may not be aware your doing this. It can cause all sorts of malfunctions. "Limp wristing" could be a possibility as well. Does is jam the same way when other shooters try it with the same ammo?

My PX4 has over 7,000 rounds through it at this point.

I've used various weights of S&B, Winchester White Box, Winchester Lawman, MFS, Speer Lawman, Speer Gold Dot, PDX Hollow Points, Blazer Brass and Aluminum cased ammo, Hornady Hollow points, Federal Hydra Shok, Hornady TAP etc. It ate it all with no complaints.

However, the really heavy weight American Eagle ammo just didn't seem to be well suited to the gun. Especially the flat nosed bullets. It fired all of it but the gun just didn't feel like it was shooting right. Brass would come out looking all black and banged up. That's the only ammo the gun didn't like.
