Hi guys,

I'm looking at getting a Beretta PX4 Storm in a 9mm and a Ruger GP 100 .357. Any thoughts on these two pieces? Also looking at getting into Kimber or Colt in a .45. Your help is greatly appreciated.

The Beretta is the last polymer framed gun I would buy with all the current options available.

If Glock isn't for you, at least go with the M&P.

Parts availability for maintenance or upgrades will be far better, and Holsters, and mags will be cheaper or at least easier to come by.

It all comes down to personal taste and what purpose you have in mind. I *prefer* the looks of a k-frame S&W, blued, with wood grips and a 6" barrel. But aesthetics aside, the GP-100 is a very well-built gun, heavier, and much better suited for a long-term diet of full-power .357 loads.

I love my PX4 but lots of people hate them. It just means there are less of them out there and not everyone has one. There are too many people out there that buy what others think is good and not what they think is good.

I have shot a PX4; it is one of the nicer shooting plymer frame guns I have shot. I rotating barrel seems to increase accuracy (more accurate than the Glock we using anyways) and the rotating barrel changed the recoil pulse also.

How come?

I've shot the PX4 and i liked it very much. In my hands, the first 10 rounds through the PX4 were more accurate than I was able to shoot all day long with my M9, fwiw.

It's one of the FIRST polymer guns I'd look at (for the reason above).
